I have today received an extra copy of Flappy Bird from Karri. Since I paid nothing for it, I would like to pass my spare copy on to another lucky AtariAge member, free of charge. PM me, first come, first served.

Rules:
#1: You must have participated in this thread prior to this post.
#2: You do not currently own a copy of Flappy Bird for Lynx.
#3: Live within the United States. PM me your address.
#4: Pinky swear you will not resell it on eBay or elsewhere... :)

Winner Winner, chicken dinner. Congrats lachoneus! :D

One thing I found interesting is the use of the shim which I have on the Lynx SD, I found having a square edge on the left and right sides seemed to be causing problems in some Lynx's with the horizontal alignment of the cart and stopping the cart working in some machines. So I ended up beveling all sides of the shim section which come in contact with the Lynx (the front was anyway) to help the cart locate more easily, and I've not had an issue with this since (fingers crossed).

The dimensions of the Lynx SD are 57.15 (for the one I measured, but this is actually the design size, so I'm impressed with the accuracy) and 2.5-2.6 thick. As its a 3d printed shim, the thickness varies a bit with surface roughness.

Apart from the issues I had with the shim and beveling, they seem to be pretty reliable in terms of working on first insertion, at least from my experience! I hope others have found the same...

Having just received the Multicart I can confirm that the dimensions are ultimate for my own Lynx 2. What I mean by that is that my Lynx suffers from bad cart contacts and most games I have to pull out slightly to get to work. Some are worse than others. However your multicart works 100% of the time when inserted fully as it should.

It's a a shame all my bought games don't have the same dimensions.

So to stay on topic it may be good if the Flappy Bird carts are made to the same spec as SainT's

Regards,

Coope

The Flappy carts are back in the shop. As is my new web-site WhiteLynx.fi.

For getting flappy carts see:

https://whitelynx.fi/test-games/

The cart comes

- without manuals

- without pins

- without boxes

But the

- quality is greatly improved for the electronics

- the music is as annoying as usual

- the game is as irritating as it should be

- cost is just €13 including postage

So the mystery game at the bottom of page is a hacked Battlezone?

Yes! I burned a few copies for testing ComLynx with it for sage. Pretty amazing game.

You can see the other human players in your play field. They have managed to create very realistic 3D world to play in. With lots of different surroundings.

I think I got a working color lsd on my SainT SD cart from somebody here. I can't remember who sent it to me initially but I don't think they would mind if I fished it off the SD cart and reposted it???

I remember having posted one on the forum but if you have a version that works, you can post it, Flappy does not belong to anyone. :-D

Flappy was a very cool project. It generated a lot of "firsts".

- 1st ABS 3D printed flat cart like in the old times
- about to become the 1st game with save support on the SD cart
- 1st game to be published using my blankcart hardware (512k flash + eeprom)
- my 1st try to create Chipper music
- tonma's 1st test game for the Lynx

The only problem with Flappy is the gameplay. Too addictive, music too irritating.

But the gameplay is short and the controls are responsive. So the overall score is...

I would post it if I can find my cart. It's in my Lynx case with the other games, but my collection is currently in disarray of sorts. :P

Bump.

flappy2.zip

EDIT: First file (dated Jan 7th, 2017) shows a grayscale image with two tones. Second file (dated Jan 25th, 2017) shows a black or dark gray screen. No full color image. Sorry to disappoint. That's all I have as I don't know how to properly synthesize LSD.

I also have this ttris lsd that's not in the general repository. ROM NOT INCLUDED!!!
