Treg
Hello there. I've used the search on the forum and didn't really see anything about this. I've recently picked up a Driving Controller. On the label instead of the word "driving" it has the Atari logo. I looked it up on ebay and in one listing the seller claims that this particular variant is rare and has it listed for 200 bucks! Now, does this guy just not know what he's talking about and just trying to find a sucker? Or is there any truth that this variant is all that uncommon? I've never really seen any of this label on the sold listings of ebay. Really this is the first Driving Controller I've ever seen for sale where I live. Thanks! briwayjones
I just stumbled upon this looking for something else. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/201320-driving-paddle-watari-logo-instead-of-driving/?hl=%2Bpaddle+%2Band+%2Bdriving&do=findComment&comment=3308677
Northcoastgamer
My original set 1979. Might be somewhat rare, but $200 seems steep. But hey, $20 in 1979 might be $200 today who knows.

briwayjones
I would say $200 is probably way too much even if they aren't as common. I don't think people are necessarily trying to find that variation of the controller. The demand is probably not great. That's a cool variation though. Collectible some in my mind. It's hard to find stuff searching on this forum. I guess the language and terminology needed is subjective. Making it hard to narrow down search results and find exactly what you're looking for.
+sramirez2008
Try searching the Gallery. Type in Driving Controller and sort by Caption. You should get a few hits.

I guess it's one of the older ones? I did notice it does have some jitter, but not so bad it's unplayable. I have the worst luck finding paddles that actually work good. Hey if you're okay mechanically fix it up. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/184296-slowcoders-guide-to-cleaning-up-your-2600/?do=findComment&comment=2316794

Using guides on youtube, I've tried taking apart and cleaning Atari paddles in the past and I was never able to make them work better. I'd probably somehow make it work worse than it did in the first place with this one.
