Did River Raid II originally came with a catalog?

Hello,

 

There are a few Activision Atari 2600 games that are not listed in any Activision catalogs, right? IIRC, "Cosmic Commuter", "Double Dragon", "Private Eye", "Rampage" and "River Raid II" are not listed even in later catalogs.

 

I´ve got a mint River Raid II with a lot of paperwork but NO catalog whatsoever. A quick eBay hunt does seems to confirm that´s the case from the pictures I´ve found.

 

Since I´ve neved had the opportunity to open any shrinkwrapped game of the above, i wonder: Does this later Activision games really were packed WITHOUT a game catalog?

It´s also on the 1984 B&W, cheap-looking catalog.

I bought a copy of Robot Tank new in shrinkwrap at a store closing sale ca. 1990, and it definitely did NOT include an Activision catalogue. It was the blue-label version of the cartridge.

 

I remember being disappointed because I really wanted a copy of the catalogue.

Yeah, if they were so budget conscience to be releasing plain old blue text labels, makes sense they wouldn't be including something as fancy as a full color catalog showcasing golden oldies.

My copy of River Raid II was purchased new and still has the shrinkwrap on the box. I just pulled it out of storage to check its contents and found the instruction manual and this catalog inside. No other enclosures were included with my copy. Hope that helps.
