When did the Mario Party Series began to decline?

This here is my 2nd Poll topic. Non-multiple choice this time. When do you folks think Mario Party started to decline in overall quality and/or go downhill?

I had the first one for the N64 and thought it was "cute" for what it was. Don't remember what events were particularly compelling (obviously didn't make much of an impact) but as soon as they started producing sequels and stamping numbers after the title, completely lost ALL interest in the series and didn't care to follow when I had a GameCube, Wii and Wii-U. Sold my Wii-U before #10 had a chance to be released.

 

So yeah, my answer would be; after the first game - but since that's not an option, I'll go with don't care.

I've used a couple others lightly, but the first and last I bought was the original. I never really had people to play with so I was at the mercy of the CPU. I played a few games with it and I only won it one time. What usually would happen is the closing moments of the game the AI would be a cheap crook and be just sadistic about things. I'd often end up on one of those tiles where it's like say in Monopoly terms the chance/community chest card. And when this happened I'd get the equal of the go back 10 spaces or go to jail card. I'd be in a close 2nd or the lead, and suddenly shoved half or more of the way back the board. You can take only so much cheap stacked AI garbage before you just pack it in and get rid of it, and that's what I did.

 

The mini games I really dug, and they were a decent battle with people or the AI either way, but the mechanics around board movement are grossly stacked in 1P mode against the human player which put me off it entirely.

I'd say 3, myself. 1+2 were pretty great, simple fun.

 

It's an awful single player game Tanooki, for sure.

9. When everyone was forced into one vehicle!

 

The best are 2, 3, 6 and 8.

 

10 is better than 9 but it could have used some DLC to help out it's somewhat limited maps.

 

I have all ten and have played them extensively; mainly because it's the only game that some of the women in my life can figure out.
