BassGuitari
Sharing from the Vectrex forum: after searching long and hard and buying some parts that do not work/fit, I had a batch of custom springs made up so you don't have to cannibalize an atari 2600 cart with a spring loaded door for a replacement anymore to do a repair! These are an exact match to the original springs, no trimming required. I am offering these for sale while they last in a "handsome" hand assembled parts bag with header:4 replacement springs in each packet, enough to repair 2 joysticks.Order enough to have a display copy Prices include postage!:$5 inside US and territories use this link: https://www.paypal.me/vectrex/5$6 international use this link: https://www.paypal.me/vectrex/6if you want multiples you can edit the amount sent from the page you are send to, just click on the dollar amount. Having replaced a Vectrex joystick with the stick from a TRS-80 Color joystick once, I noticed that the CoCo and Vectrex controllers use the same type of pots and gimble mechanisms. The only difference I could see was that the Vectrex controller has springs and the TRS-80 controller doesn't.I haven't been inside a CoCo joystick in a while so I don't know exactly how feasible it would be to mod one with these (like whether it requires pot disassembly or anything). These springs seem like they'd be ideal candidates for such a project, though. Edited February 4, 2017 by BassGuitari
Polybius
has anyone done this yet, I have a set of Joysticks for my CoCo 2 16k that I'm thinking of doing this mod on. I don't particularly care for or understand why they are not self centering.
