Bryan
Does anyone know what the XL/XE OS does when it sees an Antic Reset? This feature was removed after the 400/800 presumably because it didn't work if the CPU had HCF'ed. I can go trace the NMI handler but I thought I'd see if anyone here knew off the top of their head. I'm hoping it still causes a reset and isn't treated as a video event.
flashjazzcat
The reset bit (bit 5) in NMIST is ignored by the XL/XE OS. The NMI handler does a BIT NMIST and a BPL straight to the VBL handler.
Bryan
Thanks! So basically Antic now has a VBL trigger pin. It could be used to trigger something like a monitor, I guess. I'm thinking of modifying an OS ROM to make it a coldstart input... hmmm...
