juansolo
I thought this might be of interest to a (probably) small number of people here. I just finished this today. A transplant of a Just Speccy 128 into an old rubber key 48K Spectrum.
Newsdee
That's pretty neat. I do wish there were some new keyboard cases made to avoid modding the old ones, though.
carlsson
With a literal TON of dead Speccys, there should be spare cases for everyone. For instance a friend of mine who is a dedicated ZX Spectrum collector, had to bring out about 10 loose and boxed units to find 1 that: * Booted to BASIC * Had a working keyboard * Had a decent RF image (prior to composite video modding) * Was able to load any software from tape (prior to using a CF/SD interface) Edited March 8, 2017 by carlsson
juansolo
LOL. I was quite amused to open this one up and find the keyboard membrane was just nowhere to be found. I've also got another friend with a dead Spectrum that I need to get around to visiting as that'll get the working board out of this one. I also had no issues modding this one because it was really in bad shape when I got it. It's better now, but it's far from a minter.
