Broken Heavy Sixer

Recommended Posts

Recently fired up my heavy sixer after 5 years. The picture was very grainy. I cleaned RF cable to no avail. Then moved on to bigger and better things for whatever reason. Eventually broke a pin off in the cable in the attached picture. Can I salvage this part from a light sixer? From what I've seen in youtube videos it doesn't seem so. Thanks in advance!

What you need is some form of flat flexible cable to replace it, most have flat connections to go into a ZIF socket but some like this one have wire connections, here is a longer 4 inch version.

I would be surprised if the pitch (distance between wires) you need is not 0.1" (2.54mm), but you could measure that to be sure, if they do not have the pitch, length and number of connections you need in a single piece you could solder multiple sections together to increase the length and use a number of sections side by side to get the correct number of connections.
