zetastrike
I got a s-video modded Genesis 3 in the mail today. The seller included an AC adapter. I went ahead and used it not knowing any better and it looked different from any of the 2103s and 1602s I have. It turns out it's a 2103. Once I realized this, I stopped using it and dug out a 1479 I had stuck away from years ago. Here's the info on them. Do you think I damaged the Genesis 3 by using the 2103? I just replaced it with the 1479 and it worked like nothing had happened. I'm kind of upset with the seller. http://www.gametrog.com/GAMETROG/How_which_do_i_need_SEGA_AC_Power_Supply_Information_Specs_Model_mk-3025_mk-1602_mk-2103_mk-1479_mk-4122_aa-s95j.html
+thegoldenband
I don't think it should be a problem. The specs all match except that the amps are higher, which won't do any harm: it essentially means that the Genesis 2 adapter can handle a heavier load. It's the opposite scenario -- using a PSU that can't supply enough amps to satisfy the power draw of the system -- that can lead to fried adapters and systems. H454
The sega will only use as much power as it needs. I would use the gen. 2 power because you may need slightly more power with the s video mod.
