JoSch
While programming the 1020 emulation for RespeQt, I stumbled about questions, the owner's guide did not explain. Perhaps somebody with a 1020 1.) If the plotter is turned on, where does the pens go? Do they go to the center of the role or do they go to either side? 2.) The owner's guide states, that x coordinates go from 0 to 480 and y coordinates go from -999 to 999. Is the home position (0,0) in this 2D space? Or is it something like (-999, 240)? If somebody has some answers, I would be thrilled.
+kheller2
I believe It goes through a small startup test printing four color squares then returns the head to the left. Yup: just like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=l2lpmbXvUKY
JoSch
OK. Thanks. Anyone for the second question?
+kheller2
I'm guessing X is 0-480 (left to right) Y, -999 to +999. technically if it was done the graph way, negative should be below the current row. So I don't have an answer.. other than to dig out the printer and try a few tests. This video might help, their is a 240,-200 at line 555 and that looks like the feed down to the actual graph.
JoSch
Can somebody with a 1020, please check, whether the platten is rigidly attached to the gear an right side?
TangentAudio
Can somebody with a 1020, please check, whether the platten is rigidly attached to the gear an right side? I think so, assuming I am looking at the right thing. I see a gear drive mechanism on the right hand side and it appears to be rigidly coupled to the rubber drive cylinder. JoSch
Thanks, for the info. It seems that the platten has detached from its gear. Does the gear look like one? Mine is half split.
TangentAudio
Yes, it's a single piece. Plastic gears do split sometimes, especially with age.
JoSch
I didn't mean the usual split especially of the little hears on the motor shaft. I already fixed that. You can see here that the gear on the platten is split in another way. My guess is that the gear was clued together to hold the platten axle.
