Halloween 85/86

I recently found out about these two games and that they were on Steam (at least, I think the second one is released, not sure about that). I was excited at first. But then, I checked out some YouTube footage, and though I normally am the biggest sucker for NES-type graphics, I found the gameplay not so exciting. I didn't detect the atmosphere for which I was looking. Do I have this wrong? Are these great games? And on a specific note, I forget which one I was looking at, might have been the sequel, but the graphics, while sharper, almost looked like a -- and I'm not sure I am using this term correctly, hopefully people get what I mean -- modern Flash-type game that a typical independent developer might release to a PlayStation/Xbox marketplace.

I played this on the NES at last years PAX prime but wasn't super excitied about. I thought it was fine for the NES but i wouldn't get this for my PC.

I really enjoyed the first release. I picked it up at MGC last year and was really impressed at how responsive the controls were. I picked up the sequel at MGC this year, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.
