Light by J. Caraway

The light from Earth's past
is floating through space
and from man's unknowing
machines give it chase.

They can't catch beginnings
or endings we know
But soon they're receiving
the first picture show--
A black and white take
of a cowboy and dame
a tale that resides
in the future, the same.

But dinosaurs, living
and killing and so,
are floating in space from
their light we all know.

So if there's a man
that lives light years away
he's seeing through
lenses our very first day.

Ocean Walker by J. Caraway

The ocean is calling
The wake has a voice
You smell it and
run 'cause your legs
have no choice.

The crackers and birds
and the notes
on their legs
send happiness
out to the scorned
wife who begs.

The living will
capture your
senses and heart
The treasures are special, the waves
that they part.
Bring home all the
outlaws to feed
and to sleep
and dare to
dig up what the
sea gods will reap.

Laugh Away by J. Caraway

The angels must hate me
for they pinch at my nose
and I breathe half way
as my temperature grows.
I blow and I sniff and
it so slowly stops,
that it hinders my taste
of the barley and hops.

The angels must hate me
They push on my head
and form a great creak
in my neck on my bed
as I wake and I yawn
I am stopped suddenly
as I halt my proud elbow
and shudder my knee.

The devils are laughing
Their laziness pays
for the angels have tortured
me all of my days.
For my fathers have set
all my bloodline and me
to a standard of sin
of divine comedy.

I saw your picture today from when Old Kentucky kept a couple of screenshots. You are such an angel. Your smile and hair and eyes are so beautiful. I know you heal me with your angelic smile, Eva. Please, my love, please speak to me. Set a place in your mind and heart for me and please don't let go. I will never give up on you. If I become 'someone' and you trail along you will be like a follower, but if you come before then you will have been there from the beginning. If you wait until you see your own frailty, then you will only be submitting to the ailing world. If you burn me up too fast there won't be enough left for you to go back with me. I want to show you your face from eternity, my love. You will know it was always you and me.
