Torr
That ad is AWESOME. Not because it's advertising a porno video game... ...but because it's also adverting a "LEFTY Joystick Adapter"! Albeit, it's a legitimate and very practical piece of hardware, you can't help but laugh when it's being advertised alongside Mystique's library of games! Did they really think people would have a joystick in their left hand and manstick in their right playing these games??? (I'm sure someone did...)
+bfstats
Sound Waves, a chain record store, had the Mystique titles in a glass case at the register. Many of those types of stores sold video games. Didn't necessarily have to be "family-oriented" like department stores.

+GoldLeader
This is where I learned about the "Adult Mystique" Titles. I was flipping through my childhood Electronic Games. December 1982 page 120. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Such memories haha! I remember hearing about these games back in the day, from magazines I assume. And (as others have said) they were mostly sold in adult bookstores and video rental stores which also carried "adult" titles, of which there were quite a few around here. The above ad brings back such memories because when I was a kid, we went on a vacation to Anaheim, CA. My parents owned a music store and I think we were there for the NAMM show. Anyway I talked them into taking me to the G.A.M.E.S. store, and there I bought my Vectrex for $99 on sale for half price!!!
