mos6507
Hi folks. I know I've really left the hobby, but I was listening to the radio and Don't Stop Believin' was being played for the umteen millionth time. That song has really stood the test of time. My daughter wound up singing it in chorus, even. As you know, the song was adapted to play in the background of Journey Escape. The problem is even with the 2600's limited note accuracy, it was not a very faithful rendition. It's really hardly recognizable, in my opinion, especially the weird tune played during the main gameplay which seems to have no connection with the cart powerup/level-break chorus. However, we know that it's possible to do much better music on the 2600. The method is employed on the holiday carts. I know this is very CPU intensive so I don't know if it can be retrofitted into an existing game, but I thought I'd come back here to AtariAge to plant the seed of the idea, because if there was ever a game that was crying out for this treatment, it's this one. So...is there anybody here who thinks this is a good idea AND is in a position to do something about it?
RamrodHare
Well, I can't do anything about it, I'm just now learning to do some VERY basic hacking. I would really love it if someone would do an updated version of the game, with better music. Hopefully someone will decide to try it!
