snicklin
I waste too much time on public transport each day. I would love to do some dev work on my mobile phone - Android. Does anyone know of any tool chains and languages where i can do this without it being toooo painful? I am open to many suggestions to see what is possible. Just to clarify, this is 8 bit Atari development I am looking to do. Edited June 15, 2017 by snicklin
dmsc
Hi! You can install Termux from the play store, then you have a complete Linux environment inside your phone where you can install vim, git and GCC, then simply compile cc65 .
Irgendwer
I use for my older phone "Terminal IDE" (comes with GCC) and then go also the cc65 route. Since vim is not my taste, I use "DroidEdit" in conjunction with "Hacker's Keyboard". Works quite well if you don't have a hardware keyboard. gozar
With Termux you should also be able to install MADS.
snicklin
Thank you all for your suggestions. Do I need to 'root' my phone to run these?
snicklin
OK, I've got TermUX on my phone now. No rooting required. I can't seem to get MADS working on there yet, but I will persist.
