snake in a dungeon?

Is there any game that is like a dungeon meets snake mix?

Played nerm of bemer the other day.

loved the fact that you have to exit the screen through the walls to get to next level.

this got me thinking: what if instead of all the exits all leading to the next level, each door lead to a different room?

 

for each screen, the doors would be locked until a set amount of items had been eaten.

 

the door on top may need you to eat 5, while the one to right of the screen may only unlock at 10 eats.

rooms could have keys that spawn at set eat limits, and you have to take the key you just got from one room to the room with a keyhole to use it.

could even have a simple spiked beetle enemy moving about the screen to avoid.

if you wanted to get really fancy, give the snake weapons to eat. eat a grenade, and you can later lay it on the floor with fire button for spiked beetle to run into.

 

diet pills could be added to make you loose snake segments to control growth.

....Anyway.

 

Nothing like that out there yet is there, at least for TI?

 

anyone know of anything like that for any platform, let me know!

The closest thing to what you're looking for on the TI is probably Snake Plissken. It is a fast, responsive game--and the cartridge is available on the Arcadeshopper site. . .

"Nerm of Bemer" (and "Wormy") for the TI (available in the Gamebase) is / looks like "Worm of Bemer", which appeared in Compute! magazine in April 1984, written for the Atari with versions included for the VIC, 64, PC and TI.

Worm of Bemer was a game I played a lot back in the day, despite its lack of speed. It was a pretty admirable program considering it was written in TI BASIC, not Extended BASIC.
