hizzy
Hi! The Hunchy II thread got me thinking about other early homebrews in the AA store, and those around Hunchy II's 20 dollar price point. I'm a big fan of Seawolf, with Astar coming in at a close second. Astar has a certain addictiveness to it, plus it has simple but great graphics. Seawolf looks like it could have been an Activision game. Great graphics, smooth gameplay. The only thing missing for me is a high score patch. Xype has a few good games at the 20.00 price point. What's your favorite "20 dollar holler"?

What's your favorite "20 dollar holler"? It would have to be Galactopus. Easy pick up and play shooter. https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1050 Also Wolfenstein VCS: The Next Mission. It is a hack of Venture but so extensive that it has been called a Hackbrew. https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=824 Two great looking labels and both are fun to play.

+Nathan Strum
Lots of good choices - but I'd have to go with Seawolf. That's hard to beat at any price.

hizzy
Oystron, what else? I keep trying to get into Oystron, but the flashing screen is so off-putting. I like the game play, otherwise, though

You can see it at around the 2:56 mark:
Thomas Jentzsch
Here is a minimal Oystron hack which reduces flicker. Please let me know if that works for you or if you need more changes. Oystron (less flicker) (v0.1).bin

hizzy
Hi Thomas! It's an improvement, for sure! I just have to work on getting better at the game. I'm terrible at Oystron! haha.
