Nintendo Switch Past, Present, & Future Physical Releases

This popped up in a thread about physical media for the system, Flojomojo (thanks) pointed out some generous soul over at the NintendoLife forums has constructed and plans to maintain a list of released and to be released known physical releases for the system.

This is that link: http://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/switch_physical_boxed_games_list_and_release_dates

Currently there are these:

Legend of Zelda: BOTW (Nintendo)
1 2 Switch (Nintendo)
Skylanders Imaginators (Activision)
Just Dance 2017 (Ubisoft)
Super Bomberman R (Konami)
Binding of Isaac: Rebirth + (standard and limited, 2nd print) (Nicalis)
Has-Been Heroes (Gamestop Exclusive) (Gametrust)
Lego City Undercover (Standard & Toys R Us exclusive) (Warner Bros.)
Puyo Puyo Tetris (standard & Target exclusive) (Sega)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo)
Disgaea 5 Complete (standard & limited) (NIS America)
Ultra Street Fighter II The Final Challengers (Capcom)
Cars 3: Driven to Win (Warner Bros.)
Arms (Nintendo)
Cave Story + (Standard & Gamestop exclusive bundle) (Nicalis)
Minecraft: Story Mode (Telltale Games)
Splatoon 2 (Nintendo)
Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star (Marvelous)

Troll & I (Maximum Games)

Soldam: Drop, Connect, Erase (Dispatch Games)

There are more to come, but still for 5 months on the market after the uncertainty of the disastrous WiiU that ran off a lot of makers entirely.

The future list is pretty strong with between 40-50 more known so far and nice given the turn around of run off old school developers and more making stuff on it now, and hopefully the wii-like boom of hardware and software sales continues to bring more games back home to owners of Nintendo systems.

I was tempted by Has-Been Heroes because of the low price, but, after seeing the reviews, decided to pass. I haven't bought a new Switch game after the launch month or so since the Namco collection, which is obviously digital only. I would consider getting the new Sonic game, but it appears it's not as smooth as it could be on the Switch and the PS4 version is 4K, which is an important deciding factor for me. Maybe if they fix the smoothness issues I'd reconsider getting it for the Switch.

I didn't care about the reviews but the style of play looked like it would grate on me too much so I just didn't pull the trigger.

Not buying it all but to me I find the upcoming interesting, should all be physical releases: RiME, Sine Mora EX, Battle Chasers, Project Octopath, Skyrim, Axiom Verge, Mario, Tiny Barbarian, Yooka-Laylee, Lost Sphear(SquareEnix made by Setsuna team), Dragon Quest Builders 2 and the others (Quest, Heroes if they come), Metroid Prime 4.

Namco Museum, Sonic, those not being physical fell off my list. Also that eshop release of Pocket Rumble I'd like if that ever appears but that's only physical on the NGPC port they're making(thankfully I have a NGPC SD Kit.)

Yeah I laughed at the stupidity of that. It's so much money and you basically get a few bucks worth of pointless sonic fanboy plastic. At least last generation for $70 you got an actual game with it along with the foo foo.

I wouldn't mind having that little Sega, as a future Pi carving box perhaps if it were on the aftermarket for like $5-10 when reality sets in on people. Yet even then it's a bit big for that and I'd rather have a NES/SNES/GB(DMG) shell for that ahead of it. :)

It looks like the console name is covered by Sonic's big feet. That suggests to me that they can use this same swag in USA (Genesis) and everywhere else (Mega Drive).

I'm sure you'll be able to "score" that for a few bucks as you suggest, but I doubt you'd be able to hollow it out to put a little computer board in there. It looks like solid rubbery plastic.

It's definitely hollow. Nostalgia Nerd on YouTube got one with a big chunk out of one corner (it looks like it was made that way, not shipping damage... so not great QC on these). You can see that it's hollow.

I'm sure it has some supports inside to keep Sonic from just punching through the top, though.

I currently own:

-Super Bomberman R (was a letdown)

-Zelda (have hardly had time to play)

-Mario Kart 8 (have played a bunch)

The above list of physical releases is pretty weak...especially when you look at the endless shelves of PS4 physical releases (many of which look pretty good!)

Hoping they step it up in time for the holidays.

That's a really unfair statement. You're basically acting like the media lying bitch Sega was in 1991/2. That infamous set of TV spots comparing Nintendo and Sega where you had a stack of 20 SNES games and then 200+ Genesis titles calling the Nintendo system weak despite it has 2 years to grow that. The PS4 has been out for like what 4 years now?
