Any standard form mice that act like joysticks besides C64's 1350/1

Any mice that will play games like a joystick (no special protocol), like the commodore 1350 and 1351. The only other ones I know of are not standard form mice, but trackballs: the Kraft Amiga/ST/C64 trackball, where the C64 mode behaves like a mouse and, I suppose, the Atari 2600 and Sega Master System trackballs. I thought maybe there were some standard mice for the other vintage computers or ones I hadn't heard of for old PCs or consoles. I'd like to try getting a mouse to act like a joystick for some bitd consoles and computers, but the C64 mice are the only ones I know of.

So you want a mouse with linear, non-accelerated movement? I would think mice in general were developed for the opposite, to get a controller that has a logaritmic, accelerated movement on a relatively small area. Frankly I don't understand why the 1350 exists. I've never really tried mouse solutions on other vintage computers but would assume most of them primarily work as .. mice use to.

I guess to use mice on non-mice games. Obviously, not ideal, but mostly want to try it out versus joysticks and joypads. On PC games, people have been using mice as controller adapters on FPS games before they began making the option widely available, with adapters like the max shooter. There was also the SmartJoy for PlayStation that let you use PS/2 mice as controller substitutes (not the playstation mouse, but mouse as joypad). Unfortunately, SmartJoy's are like unicorns now, although released around 2000. It's like putting your Atari CX22 or CX80 in joystick mode to play games like centipede programmed for the joystick. The satisfaction lies somewhere between having it programmed for a trackball and using an actual joystick, at least ideally.

 

Edit: As I mentioned, there are a couple trackball options and there is the 1350 option.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if my Max Shooter might work with a USB to Amiga/Atari 9-pin adapter.

There are the Wico trackballs.

There was a mouse released for the Color Computer that was functionally the very same as a joystick; complete with one button and a low resolution. I only ever saw it in the (Radio Shack) catalogues, never in person. I don't think that it ever received much support, unless some OS-9 applications used it.

 

There was a clone of MacPaint that, if a dim memory is correct, included its own special hardware mouse with a much higher resolution. Again, I only ever saw it in a magazine, so it may have been vapourware.
