[claimed] Free to a good home: older EPROM programmer with laptop

I have a Xeltek SuperPro Z EPROM programmer that needs a new home. Some info and software download:

http://www.xeltek.co...s/superproz.htm

Digikey has a photo, and apparently some *really* expensive adapters:

Anyway, I'm doing some purging and I need to cut this thing loose. There is nothing wrong with it other than it is a parallel port only device, and if the CPU in your computer is clocked over 1GHz the software won't work. Apparently Xeltek committed an age-old sin and programmed timing loops in their software that are affected by computer speed. Thus, I have kept an old IBM ThinkPad laptop running Windows XP just to use the programmer.

So, if you don't have a programmer, or if you do and you just want a old ThinkPad, let me know.

See the first link above for a list of features, software download (the ThinkPad comes with the latest software for the programmer), and other info. A nice feature of the programmer is that it will also check logic chips to make sure they are working, i.e. stuff like 74ls series and such. I have used that feature a lot!

All in all you get:

1. SuperPro Z with original box and power supply

2. IBM ThinkPad running XP with programming software installed

3. Linksys PCMCIA wireless card for the ThinkPad

4. Parallel cable

5. New PLCC chip-puller (because I have too many)

I am in SoCal (greater Los Angles area) if anyone wants to do a local pickup (I will drive to meet you, within reason), otherwise I will ship it at your expense. Send me a PM.

I'm not sure what I could use that writer for, but I am interested perhaps in the laptop.

Do you have the specs on it? I've been waffling over picking up an old laptop so I can enjoy some 20th century computer gaming the right way again and that clearly being under 1ghz due to the writers limitations has me very interested. I know it has some inherent risks though as taking it online probably would be a viral nightmare, but if one can plug a modern large (1-2TB) sized usb hdd into it I could see loading it up being a snap.

Well, that will teach me to post something for free and go away for a few hours... ;-) A lot of the PMs asked what shipping would cost, but the answer is always "it depends" based on how you would want it shipped. Rather than having me try to guess, here are the details so you can check on your desired shipping method:

Weight: 9lbs to 10lbs packed.

Minimum box size to contain everything would be 13"x10"x7".

I'll go down the list of PMs and honor them in order. I'll post here when the items are sold.
