+xucaen
I just saw a review video of Battlesphere. That looks like a really great game. And it was released on cartridge! I hadn't come across this game before in my research. http://www.scatologic.com

Austin
It's a solid game for what it is. I'm personally not much a fan of space flight games in general so I couldn't really get into it, but fans of the genre might dig it.
sirlynxalot
I had the opportunity to play this game recently and it did not live up to the ideas I'd built up in my head about it. It was good, but I didn't feel that it was any better than other similar games of the era such as Stellar Assault on the 32x in terms of graphics or gameplay.
SuperDork3000
xucaen, you've been an AA member since 2005....I really hope your joking. Funny thing that you post this video, because I was watching it last night, as well as his other Jaguar reviews. Actually, I had done my research a few years ago before I bought a Jaguar from Best and I had made a list of games along with notes based on reviews. I think I was looking at only "official" releases so that's probably why I missed it.

leech
How many copies of Battlesphere Gold were made vs how many working Jaguars are there? Seriously need another run of the game so there aren't 1000 dollar copies being sold randomly.

leech
Seriously won't happen. Yeah, I know. Bunch of drama around it, etc. I just know there was a lot of us that just missed the original run and had no idea the Gold run was happening until it was over. AdeptRapier
Anyone know where I can read a copy of the manual? I cant afford a copy of the game but would love to read the manual at least.

I'm pretty sure that less than 300 copies of BSG were made, original BS is probably even less. The question I have is....why is the Scatologic page still up after all these years?

+xucaen
Well, after watching a couple of battlesphere review videos, it got me thinking - I wonder if it would be possible to port the Atari ST version of Star Raiders to the Jag. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OClv3JqRZAA

doctorclu
Search is your friend. Yep, that thread shows that Star Raiders on the Jaguar is possible. I think it would be a fun game on the Jaguar. Now if you can get ahold of Battlesphere there is the built in game "Alone Against the Empires" which is a great Star Raiders tribute. As far as Battlesphere goes I believe if the game had been more widely released we would be singing the praises as an innovative game. Probably a 8 or 9 out of 10. But with so much hype, the cost of the game, I think that drives it into the sour grapes category. A shame as I've played the game for hours alone and against friends networked and it is quite fun. +LS650
Please don't. A little searching for BattleSphere here will tell you more than you could ever want to know.
LianneJaguar64
I'd say that Colony Wars was more impressive than Battlesphere in terms of space combat games though
Lost Dragon
I'd say that Colony Wars was more impressive than Battlesphere in terms of space combat games though The 1st 2 Colony Wars games are the best. Red Sun is technically impressive, but i never found it as much fun to play. PS1 is rather spoilt in this genre though... 3 Colony Wars games, Darklight Conflict,WC3 and 4, Star Trek Invasion, Blast Radius.. Something for everyone. UHATEIT
I enjoy space shooters. But I couldn't get into this one. Maybe it was the warping to different areas I couldn't get into. One space shooters I love is Solar Eclipse on the Sega Saturn.
