+Ksarul
We didn't play a lot this week, but we did get some time in. Almost all of the eligible time was put in by Turtles at the beginning of this week, before he switched over to his 3DS for the rest of it. TI-99/4A 4A Flyer 3 minutes Alex Kidd on Miracle Island 11 minutes Break Thru! 14 minutes Centipede 8 minutes Eric in Monsterland 6 minutes Giving 11 minutes Henhouse 9 minutes Jet Set Willy 16 minutes Parsec 10 minutes
Eltigro
I have a soft spot for Sonic 2- it's one of a few games that i have the level layouts memorized and can blow through the game. Sonic 3 is really cool (I love the graphics and music), but I just didn't play it as much. Heh, after the first Sonic, the one that I've probably played the most is Spinball. lol
+thegoldenband
Here's the summary for Week 50, running from December 10 - 16. We logged 6001 minutes of eligible play, playing 74 games on a total of 17 systems. Top 10: 1. Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall (PC (DOS)) - 1380 2. Ultima IV: Quest for the Avatar (Apple II) - 540 3. Tomb Raider (PlayStation) - 507 4. Last Hope (Neo Geo CD) - 396 5. Breakout 2000 (Atari Jaguar) - 268 6. Megamania (Atari 2600) - 238 7. Baby Pac-Man [homebrew] (Atari 7800) - 216 8. H.E.R.O. (Atari 2600) - 213 9. Solar Fox (Atari 2600) - 198 10. Kaboom (Atari 2600) - 177 Pre-NES top 10: 1. Ultima IV: Quest for the Avatar (Apple II) - 540 2. Megamania (Atari 2600) - 238 3. Baby Pac-Man [homebrew] (Atari 7800) - 216 4. H.E.R.O. (Atari 2600) - 213 5. Solar Fox (Atari 2600) - 198 6. Kaboom (Atari 2600) - 177 7. M.U.L.E. (Atari 8-bit) - 137 8. Chopper Hunt (Atari 8-bit) - 101 9. Gopher (Atari 2600) - 84 10. Ultra SCSIcide (Atari 2600) - 67 Top 10 systems: 1. PC (DOS) (1452) 2. Atari 2600 (1272) 3. Apple II (540) 4. PlayStation (507) 5. Atari Jaguar (401) 6. Neo Geo CD (396) 7. Atari 7800 (322) 8. Atari 8-bit (300) 9. Arcade (237) 10. Neo Geo AES/MVS (232) Another week at #1 for Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, which also leads DOS to the top of the system charts, with the Atari 2600 not far behind at #2. However the week's top pre-NES game isn't a VCS title, but Ultima IV on the Apple II. (Well, it's technically the IIe, but we treat all those II-series machines as one thing, for better or worse. The game could apparently run on a II+ with the right upgrades. If we ever had a IIgs game, though, we'd probably give that its own category.)
DragonGrafx-16
Daggerfall won't be #1 again for the next week as I'm going to be visiting family for Christmas for the next 12 days and I'm not lugging my DOS tower with me, but I'll be bringing some consoles with me so expect the PC-Engine and NES to start showing up more.
Opry99er
23 hours on Daggerfall in a week. That's heavy gaming there! I remember putting 30 in one week on Morrowind---Daggerfall's successor... but that was pre-kids. digdugnate
lol- that one i can't speak to. although... i guess there could be a burgeoning market for those kind of mods.....
carlsson
I don't have the numbers, but somehow it doesn't seem like 23 hours on a single game is a record. Over at the modern tracker, one player recorded 43 hours and 59 minutes on a single game in one week which possibly could be a record. Then we have somebody who clocked 39 hours on Fallout 4 in one week.
+thegoldenband
I once put over 60 hours into a single game (Romance of the Three Kingdoms) in a week. (I still can't believe I did that!)

carlsson
Yup. I don't know how much time you spent in front of her computer that week or if she on her own logged all those hours. Anyway we got a couple of reference numbers here: Romance of Three Kingdoms (NES) - 61 hours, 45 minutes (thegoldenband) Galaxian (Atari 2600) - 50 hours (homerwannabee) Destiny 2 (Xbox One) - 43 hours, 59 minutes (Major Havoc 2049) Pokémon Ultra Sun (3DS) - 41 hours, 18 minutes (Jin) Fallout 4 (PC) - 39 hours (digdugnate's wife) Fallout 4 (Xbox One) - 38 hours (digdugnate, 5 weeks later) Galaxian (Atari 2600) - 35 hours (homerwannabee) Warrior of Rome II (Genesis) - 32 hours, 8 minutes (thegoldenband) Possibly the classic tracker has had a few more memorable scores that belong on the overall top list.
Eltigro
I put in quite a few hours on Suikoden in one week last year... but don't remember how much. I can't imagine doing that now...
carlsson
Yes, you really did. Week ending on January 22, 2017: 2820 min (47 hours) on Suikoden (PS1) Week ending on January 29, 2017: 614 min (10 hours 14 min) on Suikoden (PS1) + 1222 min (20 hours 22 min) on Suikoden II (PS1) Week ending on February 5, 2017: 1560 min (26 hours) on Suikoden II (PS1) Week ending on February 12, 2017: 915 min (15 hours 15 min) on Suikoden II (PS1) I can't recall about the other games on the top list, if either of those had any significant amount of minutes the week before or week after their record weeks, but it would seem over the course of consecutive weeks you put 57 hours on Suikoden and nearly 62 hours on Suikoden II, though split over three weeks.
+Ksarul
Turtles is fixated on his 99/4A this week. He had an electronics day in class today and took a nice portable TI setup to school in his backpack. He planned to connect everything up to one of the monitors in the classroom (he'd already scouted it out to make sure it had the right inputs). He's definitely got the old-school gaming bug. Opry99er
Don't know what insanity will unfold this weekend, with the holidays upcoming, so I wanted to get this in now in case I disappear for a few days. Apple II: Ultima IV (600~ minutes) TI-99/4A: St. Nick (90 minutes) Tunnels of Doom (40 minutes) Video Games 1 (40 minutes) Ultima IV is beginning to consume my mind, awake and asleep. Just wanted to throw that out there.
+Ksarul
Turtles spent about 100 minutes demonstrating a whole lot of TI games for his class today. Apparently, the teacher swooned with joy when she saw Donkey Kong on it. . .now I just have to get the records of what he played and for how long. oyamafamily
ATARI 2600: Stay Frosty 2: Stay Frostier - 220 minutes Ultra SCSIcide - 30 minutes EVIDENCE OF THE WEEK: Package of evidences presented to 2018 Homebrew Tournament Final Round to celebrate Christmas. karokoenig
Atari 2600 ULTRA SCSIside: 10 min Sega Master System Wonder Boy III The Dragon’s Trap: 111 min Almost there with Wonder Boy. In fact, I already reached the final boss once, but got beaten. Most of the play time this week was wasted, because to tackle the final boss, I need to do some farming for health potions and magical items. Tried that twice this week, but got interrupted by real life - and I'm really not comfortable with leaving such old hardware on for hours. I can finish this no problem, but I need about an hour or so.
Kurt_Woloch
Here are my times for this past week (December 16th through 23rd)... Atari 7800: Baby Pac-Man - 54 min. in 2 sessions The only game I played this week was Baby Pac-Man on the Atari 7800. Bob posted another update where the drop targets work properly, which prompted me to send him an update to my code which should prevent the ball from "hanging" in the target area taking out multiple targets at once. Other than that, I concentrated on getting on with my goals and chores, so no further gaming than that.
