icemanxp300
Ok so I had two model 2 genesis systems I was testing to sell. The first one I plugged in had a major buzzing sound but other than that worked perfectly. I was using a 3rd party power supply and tried with an original power supply. No difference. I plugged in the 2nd system and it worked perfect no buzzing w/3rd party power and original. I am using 3rd party a/v cables. I read online that buzzing sound can be caused by poor quality cables and lack of shielding the audio from the video. So I grabbed an old r/f and connected to the genesis that was buzzing, and there was no buzzing. Practically perfect except the crappy fuzz from the old worn out r/f cables. So I grabbed the deox-it and sprayed out the audio/video input on the genesis and tried again w/the a/v cabled and now it works perfect no buzzing! Did the deoxit actually help by making a better connection or what?
HardZero
Sounds like it. Interesting. I would've just chalked it up to a bad a/v cable and chucked it. I'll have to try this if one of my Genesises(Genesi?) starts buzzing.
