TonVH
Stella works fine for game files with the extension ".bin". But often downloads have ".rom" as extension and Stella does not work with them. How can I (preferable on a Mac) convert these to ".bin? +stephena
Not sure what's going on, but Stella recognizes files with the extensions a26, bin, rom, zip and gz. And except for the latter two, it doesn't treat the files any differently. In fact, a file can be named anything and still be used in Stella from the commandline; the naming convention is for the ROM launcher UI only. That being said, 'rom' is a valid extension and should be working. Do you mean that the ROMs aren't showing up in the Stella, or that they can't be run?? In any event, I am sure there are mass-file-rename utilities for the Mac that can be used here (someone else will have to comment on that). But I don't think it should be needed in this case. TonVH
I have Roms and they show up in the Stella browser but when started all I see is a black screen.
mr_me
Are you sure they are Atari 2600 rom image files.
TonVH
I was under the impression that Stella also emulated Atari 800. Too bad, will have to find another emulator.

mr_me
This is what you want. Unfortunately Altirra is Windows only. There is a Mac version of the Atari800 emulator. http://www.atarimac.com/atari800macx.php
