+atari2600land
So the PVB forums won't let me talk about this game I'm making for the Virtual Boy because it's about gambling. (I guess it's a way to keep spammers out?) I talked with the guy who runs the site and that's why I can't post anything about it. So if his host never gets rid of that dumb rule, I'll try here. So I've made a roulette game. Move the chip with the left dpad and place the bet and spin the wheel with the start button. The game will tell you if you lost or won. Download it and tell me what you think. http://www.atari2600land.com/casino/casino.vb Edited March 16, 2018 by atari2600land

You can't talk about a videogame about roulette..? Good grief.

+atari2600land
Well, a few days went by and I still can't mention the dirty word of "casino" on the PVB forums. So I'll post it here. I added some music and win/lose sfx. http://www.atari2600land.com/casino/casino.zip Let me know what you think.
+atari2600land
I went through after a couple of days' worth of off and on coding for this thing and FINALLY made the dollar amount not blink when a new round starts play. You'd think it wouldn't be so hard, but no.
+atari2600land
Working on Blackjack. This should be 18 individual suits and values with no duplicates.
Arenafoot
Any chance of making a better Blackjack and/or Casino (or even Slot Machine) game for the 2600? I'm referring to better graphics than the Atari original releases.......
+atari2600land
If you want a better Blackjack game, there is a homebrew one called "21 Blue." I don't think I could fit a casino game on the Atari 2600. Maybe Slot Machine, but that's about it. But thanks for mentioning Slot Machine. I think I'll work on that next. I completely forgot about them! Here is a picture of the final Blackjack table.
Arenafoot
Yeah, I love 21 Blue - waiting for the cart release..... but I would think that a graphics hack of the original Casino, Blackjack, Slot Machine, etc would be easier than a new rewrite???? +atari2600land
I tried Roulette once in bB. It was hard, so I gave up. Anyway, how do you like this new slot machine I designed?

+atari2600land
I'm working on Craps at the moment. I don't think I'll put in the "Come" and "Don't Come" bets. I'm not sure, but I think they apply to if more than one shooter is playing. Even if they're not, they're similar to the "Pass" and "Don't Pass" bets, which I've programmed in the game here. SlidellMan
Hmm...looking good so far. By the way, was this done with VIDE?

+atari2600land
Didn't put in Craps after all. I'm putting in Video Poker instead.
CrazyChris
I would think that the VB community would welcome any new developments.
MemberAtarian
Stupid question, but does it have to VR feeling? Or why should it be on Virtua Boy?
+atari2600land
It doesn't have to be 3D. Like this game for instance, doesn't have much if any 3D in it. It should be on the Virtual Boy because it's the only system I know that can handle big projects like this. The code is like 2,500 lines or so.
