Asaki
Sorry the picture isn't sharper, higher resolution... but how many 'old' things can YOU spot? Well I was going to make a joke about your ancient Rock Band controller, but upon closer inspection, it might just be a real guitar  I'm pretty sure they didn't make fake plastic guitars for lefties, anyway. eegad
I use a circa 2000 or so 32" Samsung for my Atari 2600, 800xl, and Colecovision. Also hanging onto a 20" Sharp from the late 90's in case the Samsung dies.
Asaki
LOL instead you tell him his Guitar looks like a cheaply made plastic piece of junk It was hard to tell at first glance, the image is soft and dark. I also forgot that Rock Band guitars have maple colored necks.
4300
Those of you using a flat screen trinitron; do your light gun games work?
F34R
Those of you using a flat screen trinitron; do your light gun games work? yes. It's not an HD flatscreen crt though. My KV27FV310 works fine playing some duck hunt.
icemanxp300
Those of you using a flat screen trinitron; do your light gun games work? As long as the TV is SD it should work regardless of screen being flat or not.
Keatah
I rocked a CRT once. Glass everywhere!

Torr
I must say, the SMS lightgun DOES seem to prefer older CRTs. I have a tiny portable B&W set... and the SMS light gun is PRECISION on that screen. You know in Rambo III how when your fire there's like 3-6 shots that rotate where you fired? On this screen, some of those shots hit the edge, and some make the screen flash... not sure if you mean what I'm trying to say, but it's SO accurate, if my light gun is HALF on the screen and HALF off, then when it shoots the flurry of shots, half actually show up on the screen and half make the screen blink like you're not aiming at the screen. I've never been able to shoot so close to the edge as with that little portable unit... too bad it too small to actually be a gaming CRT (plus it's B&W!!!) F34R
It's SD. KV27FS120 model. Does not like the SMS light gun at all. I have the 120 as well, and at least the NES zapper works like a charm on it. I'll see if I can find an SMS gun to test on it and the other crts I have.

eegad
As long as the TV is SD it should work regardless of screen being flat or not. One exception to this rule (that I know of) : My 32" Samsung is an odd duck, in that it is a non-interlaced model. At least for a while they were making some of their crt tv's work more like computer monitors (also had some nice features like freeze-frame, etc). I remember when I bought it, going to the store with the intention of getting a Sony. The "large screen" (32 inch) models were all lined up together. The Samsung was next to the Sony. But as I stood there doing a side-by-side comparison, I had to admit that the Samsung was noticeably clearer, especially up close. It was a while after I bought it that I learned about the non-interlace thing. I've kept this beast around because classic videogames (and also including my Wii) look better on it than a "regular" CRT. But the one downside? Light gun games do not work on it for whatever reason (I'm specifically talking about Atari XEGS titles like Crossbow & Barnyard Blaster...and I also once had an NES hooked up to it to test it with that system also). 4300
So after some reading, it seems it may have something to do with the refresh rate. From what i can gather, most older crt's have a 60hz refresh rate, while some of the last Sony's had a 100hz rate. I'm guessing i may have the latter. I have a remote on order so i can access the service menu. Hopefully there is a setting i can change.
icemanxp300
I highly doubt the KV27FS120's don't support Phasers. Doing a quick google search shows they do support light guns. I would be more inclined to believe your Light Phaser has a problem and not the TV. The local game store 8 minutes from me has a KV27FS120. I'll have him test out a Light Phaser next time I go. I'm pretty sure he has a master system but if not I will take one and a phaser.
4300
Light phaser works fine on the jvc and quasar crt's i have.

juansolo
Do light gun game work on RGB PVM's? Yup. It's just a better quality set over a domestic set with RGB in essence.
4300
And, all is well. Made some adjustments to the brightness and contrast and the Sony works with the light phaser fine.

AtticGamer
I still rock a few. I've made an "80's computer corner" with an old television and two ZX Spectrums. For my Sega and Nintendo consoles, I sport a Philips CRT that I plan on replacing with a nice Trinitron if I can find one. My main computer monitor is a 22" LaCie Electron Blue IV that is glorious to play both 90's PC games as well as the latest titles.
