Fired up my Lynx for the first time in ages

I used to play my lynx all the time, but following a big move, new job, and my wall adaptor going to the big, white recycle bin in the sky... I sort of forgot about it for the last 5 years or so.

About a week ago I ordered a replacement wall wart off Evilbay and fired the old girl up last night... and ended up doing nothing else all evening. I'd forgotten just how fun this system is. The library has a huge pile of great arcade ports (many of which are the 'best' home ports of that particular game), and a ton of original stuff you can't play elsewhere. Got sucked into Battlezone 2000, Rygar, Slime World, Lemmings, Xenophobe etc. While it may not have been super popular, the Lynx really does have one of the highest quality game ratio in a portable library.

So... what's new in Lynx gaming? I know about the McWhill mod (Hancock has one on his Lynx). Anything else worth checking out, new homebrews, hacks etc?

Thanks for the links! (Lynx? :-P). Looks like there are a lot of things in development.

Did anyone ever get anywhere with a multicart/sd card interface to play these on actual hardware? I remember a couple of threads about it that never seemed to go anywhere. I'd love to get alien, berzerkeroids etc on an actual cart.

Yeah, it's really great fun with a lot of things going on! There's actually four flash carts for the Lynx that I know of! :) The first one I know of was a multi cart made by Karri for developers long ago.

Then there was Lynxman's flash card:

After that jfmateos released a Lynx multicart:

The Multi cart from SainT / RetroHQ I think have become pretty much the standard one these days (with apparently over 800 sold!)

VectrexRoli has made some great videos about the three latest of them.

While we are on the topic of flash cards. The card to the left was my first card. It is a SRAM card for the Lynx with a 1F capacitor that could hold the charge for several hours. It was made by Lynxman and I got some info of how to set it up from 42bastian

The card to the right is my 16MB flash card that could hold almost the entire Lynx game collection. It also had eeprom support. The interesting thing is that the cart was programmed by the Lynx. You could ComLynx card images to the Lynx and the Lynx worked as a flash burner.
