Heres the confusing part about it: the BIN was labeled, Jumpman Junior Super Game Cartridge Homebrew Prototype? The seller said it works on a standard Colecovision, but I always thought Super Games were only compatible with the Adam computer? Is it a Homebrew prototype maybe? I have no idea myself, but Im hoping to find out when it arrives on Friday. Any ideas? The cart will be arriving on Friday, according to the tracking number I received. I’ll open the cart then and post my findings. Neogeoman Posted May 10, 2018 Share Posted May 10, 2018 Yea I saw those games on Ebay too and to me they dont look legit. It looks exactly like a regular game with a handwritten label on it. That's why the listings have question marks as to their prototype status as if the seller is unsure. The seller just has too many listed and has some regular games listed as "prototypes" or did at one point. NIAD Posted May 10, 2018 Share Posted May 10, 2018 Epyx was going to release enhanced games for the ADAM but I think some were planned to be released on cartridge not DDP or Disk. I'll have to take a look through the info I have to see what titles they had announced. Ill drop by and pick it up after work. I am actually nervous about this now. The seller seemed friendly during the transaction, but his item descrptions are less than welcoming. Yes, its on me for buying from him. But at the same time - he is using dodgy practices to sell games. I dread doing a refund if this item turns out to be a common cart with a handwritten label. If the cart isnt a proto, it will raise the following question: why is he falsely advertising games as prototypes? And how many unsuspecting people has he screwed along the way? Isn't the seller putting a question mark after the word 'proto' and disavowing much, if any, knowledge in the worded listings about the items being sold to leave wiggle room on just this point? Devil's advocacy: I don't have this actual listing in front of me, and cannot seem to find it in the completed auctions over the past 15 days, but I would hazard to guess that it depends on the entirety of the listing as worded. One could argue (right or wrong) that "(super game)" might mean nothing more than the person who penned the label thought it was a great/fun video game. Again, I don't have the verbal description in front of me, but if it doesn't explain how the label corresponds to the enclosed game and makes mention that the seller really doesn't know what it is, there's a lot of gray area and room for supplied interpretation from either side that makes this a potential mess if anyone is dissatisfied with the transaction. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

While perhaps technically the case (and it's a pet peeve of mine that many sellers cannot be bothered to apply eBay's condition categories properly), this doesn't seem like a good faith case to bring to eBay, as it's evident from the listing what's included and what isn't. If it were, say, a boxed game described as complete that turned out to be missing the manuals or overlays, sure, but IMHO arguing on these grounds when you're unhappy about an item is sour grapes rules lawyerism. "Assume", "maybe a prototype", "I really know little", and "you be the judge" all pretty much put the ball squarely in the court of the buyer to determine what's what. Caveat emptor and all that. It's a crap listing style to say one thing in the title and go the other way completely in the full description. If he is truly clueless then he bought these from someone that made their own carts from roms and he should be told that he should make sure to declare that these are not authentic and that they are re created from rom. If he didn't buy these from someone else then he is outright lying to you and made them himself. Daniel never gave his games out with just a white sticker on them and the stickers look similar to other games which are all done by different people. half those stickers are not even in the sticker location and are at the top of the cart which no homebrewer would. I have these homebrews they are all beautifully labeled. Look at his common games he is selling that he calls rare, the parker brothers games are in coleco carts. These are basically all fakes. He either got screwed from a seller that made all these games or his is making them himself. Tomarc the barbarian is in a coleco cart. Give me a break.
