legeek
Hi All, I made some XE-style labels for the Atari 8-bit games that didn't make it to market in 1989. I still want to do MIDI Maze and Commando. Also, did Bruce Lee ever get a product number? Cheers, Ben Bruce Lee Deflektor Mean 18 Tower Toppler Xenophobe
SoundGammon
Nice! Really like the XENOPHOBE! Can you do some 5200 prototype labels? Edited June 16, 2018 by SoundGammon
legeek
Thanks! There is a big thread of 5200 labels here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/page-1?hl=+labels I made a couple variations: Blaster http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=4003759 Stargate http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=4027667 But most of the protos have been covered by other members by 8bitclassics: Super Pac-man http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=871898 by Allan: Battlezone http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=2206347 Micro-gammon http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=1409485 Blaster http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=1410998 Stargate http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=1454056 by Atariboy2600: Millipede http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=1224359 Looney Tunes Hotel, Final Legacy http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=1224216 Blaster http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=948229 Track & Field, Road Runner http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=978224 Asteroids http://atariage.com/forums/topic/57214-the-atari-5200-label-thread/?p=958742

koolmoecraig
These are great. Did anyone ever do a Jr. Pac-man label?
jaybird3rd
Nice labels! I made a few XE-style repros of my own, and the labels I designed ended up being very similar to yours. I did a Superman III label, too: (I wish I had a higher-quality scan of the artwork, but all the scans I've found are pretty low-res. It's only about an inch tall when printed on a cartridge label, though, so it doesn't look too bad.)
Gunstar
I didn't realize there were even protos that existed for Ikari Warriors, Ninja Golf, Mat Mania and Jinks. Are these available somewhere?
SS
I didn't realize there were even protos that existed for Ikari Warriors, Ninja Golf, Mat Mania and Jinks. Are these available somewhere? I was just going to ask the same thing. Does anyone have any info? AtariMania has a page for "Ninja Golf" but there's nothing on it.

DracIsBack
Have they found A8 versions of some of these games? (Ninja Golf, Ikari Warriors, Mat Mania?) Edited June 17, 2018 by DracIsBack
Gunstar
Have they found A8 versions of some of these games? (Ninja Golf, Ikari Warriors, Mat Mania?) As long as Ikari Warriors exists, I'm happy. In fact, though I'd be happy if the others exist too, but I'd give them up just to have Ikari Warriors. I loved it on the 7800, as well as Commando, Xenophobe and Tower Toppler, and I always wished there were 8-bit versions. With Commando and Xenophobe I always knew protos existed, because I saw articles on these games in Atari's own Explorer magazine, but these others mentioned I'd know idea. Well, we finally got Commando, Xenophobe and Tower Toppler protos...but I always felt the 8-bit slighted as long as it didn't get a version of Ikari Warriors. pseudografx
Nir, the number on the cart of Mat Mania (RX8115) does not correspond with the pdf (RX8135).

SS
is xenophobe in the public domain or copyrighted? i cannot seem to find it The only known prototype was purchased by Fandal and then resold to Video61. Video61 sells reproduction cartridges of it and Fandal gets a small royalty for each one sold. It is not available for purchase anywhere else and out of respect for Fandal and his contributions to the A8 scene it is not widely shared around either.

Level42
I'm nut a lawyer, but I don't think that is the way it works. I think Bally-Midway and Atari had the copyrights/licenses. Oh well....both are gone now....and I don't want to derail this thread with cool looking cart labels

+CharlieChaplin
The labels are great! But I would change the copyright notice for Koronis Rift (from Datasoft to Lucasfilm)...
+ZuluGula
Did we already talk how to make nice labels at home? I have a V61 cart and i want to replace the label.
legeek
UPDATE: I printed out a label for Xenophobe, and it looked too "purple-ish", so I went back and made a batch with bluer backgrounds. I also got rid of the rounded edges they weren't needed. Here's the new label next to Mario Bros And here's all the labels in both shades of blue You can download a zip file will all the labels here, and You can download a PSD template to make your own here. Did we already talk how to make nice labels at home? I have a V61 cart and i want to replace the label. I use this glossy sticker paper, printing on high quality, and cutting them out by hand: https://www.amazon.com/Milcoast-Shipping.../dp/B01FWVUVI2 Cheers, Ben
