This game got me thinking! The Jag needs "Space Invaders 2000" with some trippie visuals!

Can't wait to see where you take this! I'm jealous of you smart guys who can figure out how to make a game.

I fear I would break my laptop every other day if I tried anything like this!!

Added the beginning of a wave system. Wave 1 is the UFOs slowly go down, wave 2 is the UFO goes left and right, and wave 3 is the UFOs go down a little faster. A wave starts when the score is a multiple of 20. Right now, that's all I have so far.

At some point, I would like to have more than one UFO on screen, and have the UFOs shoot at Aaron.

Link to the game is in my signature.

Please don't let it be a 1 Wave Game.

I think it's already surpassed that benchmark :)

Added a few more waves. the game starts on wave 4 where there are two ufos moving from left to right, and wave 5 is where the ufos slowly move down, but there's two of them on screen at once. After this, wave 5 just repeats for now.

The link should still be in my signature.

Added a wave 6 where the ufos drop bombs on you. The game starts on wave 5 right now.

Would you prefer a 1 Wave game or a Wave1Game?

The bombs that the UFOs drop are now deadly. This means that Aaron can now die. When he runs out of all his lives, a game over message appears. My game is at 785KB. I think the limit is 2MB, right? Or what would be the easiest, like if I could make a 4MB game, would I have to do any special thing or if I get it on a cartridge, would it need to do something extra, like more memory or something? My eventual goal is to have this be in the AA Store.

About the signature not being on mobile, does that mean there's a way to emulate the Jaguar on a mobile phone, or?

Huh?

No. You said that the link is in your sig.
I said that sigs are not visible on mobile browsers.
Thereby informing you that the link being in your sig is invisible to anyone browsing the forum on a phone.

Emulators are for noobs. I never mention them.

His point is that if you're browsing on a phone, even if you could see the link, you couldn't do anything useful with it.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say.

Does anyone have any feedback on the game so far?

I finally got to play and enjoying it. The bombs are too difficult (for me) to dodge if they get half way down the screen and make it insanely difficult but still trying to master some technique.

Hacking in infinite lives helps though :P

I was wondering if I should make the bombs smaller.

I made the bombs smaller. I also added in a wave 7 where the UFOs go left and right AND drop bombs. I figure if I try to put in more than two UFOs, then there would be times where the aardvark wouldn't have a place to go to not get hit by a bomb.

Worked a lot on collision detection of the bombs.

I also changed a few other graphics.

I want to work on this some more but I don't know what to add. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do next?

Find a pixel artist to work with :)

Better than something you stole from a clipart site. I'd work on gameplay and if it gets where you want it to be, as CJ said, work with an artist.

OK then, who wants to draw an aardvark for me?

Probably nobody...

I attempted to draw an aardvark. Actually, I replaced most of the graphics. I wanted it to look real, and the result of me drawing them is it looks more like a cartoon.

That's why you need to find a pixel artist. Slapping random clip art from sites into the same composite image just does not work.

[now just wait]
