christo930
This is one of those games which appears to be a good match for the 7800 and has the added bonus of having only a single home version of it. Has this ever been tried or even considered (in the homebrew scene, no way any other platform was going to get this game). This is one I would definitely pick up for myself. What would the challenge (aside from someone wanting to do it) of bringing this arcade game to the big screen?
doctorclu
I have played DK 3 in the arcade and would love to see this on a Atari system.
gorfcadet
I would volunteer to covert sprites. This and Popeye are two of my favorites from that era. I mean, its pretty much Galaga. I would think the 7800 could handle it just fine. Pokey or Yamaha would be a must.
+Defender_2600
Meantime, I think you'll be glad to know that DK2 is under development for 7800! Anyway, to satisfy your curiosity, here's a quick mockup I did some time ago ...

christo930
I bet the Apple ][ could do DK3... I was thinking with all of the moving objects.... I'd like to see a port of Zoo Keeper. This a game that was never ported to a home console until relatively recently on one of the arcade hits type compilations. 7800Lover
I'd be glad to see this. It's funny to see Donkey Kong getting shot in the butt.

I'm converting the arcade code from Z80 to the 7800's 6502, so that this game will be virtually identical. Graphics are all upgraded from what was done with Donkey Kong XM/PK, courtesy of Defender_2600. If there is interest, I will be able to make fully populated carts with RAM/POKEY onboard but they will be quite a bit more expensive." http://atariage.com/forums/topic/273865-happy-new-year-xm-shipping-this-month/?p=4131489
