Omega-TI
I have a question concerning a potential use for cartridges on the TI, but am uncertain if the design of the TI would even allow it. It's possible to re-program an UberGROM in the TI (like updating Extended BASIC 2.7S) and even putting data into the 15K of GROM space in the cartridge. So, since there is at least some level of bi-directional activity,.. My question is, could a program running on the TI initiate the execution of specific programs on a cartridge? If so, would this just be limited to the hardware design of the UberGROM, or could this potentially work with a FinalGROM 99 as well? Asmusr
Sure. Starting a ROM program is very easy (2 instructions). Starting a GROM program perhaps takes a few more steps? (I'm not sure). It works the same on UberGROM and FinalGROM except the latter doesn't have multiple GROM bases (so only 40K GROM).
Opry99er
It might depend on what language your current program is written in. (Sorry for the hanging preposition) Also, what kind of program will be expected to run from cartridge?
