Upscaler and RGB

I have my Inty running into my DVD recorder and then out of that via composite rca's to my LCD HDTV. I want to try coming out of my DVD recorder via scart to an upscaler and then from that to my TV via hdmi. I was wondering if the signal from my DVD recorder would be sent in RGB via the scart to the upscaler? I realise the Inty doesn't output RGB but don't know if the dvd recorder changes it to such? What are peoples thoughts?

I have this dvd recorder

I think you're asking if your dvd recorder can convert rf to rgb. You should set the scart output in the dvd recorder to rgb, connect the scart output to your television and see what happens. You're still converting a low quality signal so don't expect much. If your tv has an rf input it will convert and scale as well without extra equipment. You can compare it to an external scaler and see if that's better. You might still need to extract audio from scart.

Edit:

If you have a non-uk pal or secam intellivision you can use this modification to get a good rgb signal.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm asking.

I tried connecting the rf out from my Inty directly to my TV and the picture was terrible. It is far better running it through the dvd recorder and the out through the av phonos so, I wondered if putting it through an upscaler via the RGB scart would improve any further?
