AtariUser2
Irecently bought an Atari ST but I have no idea how to load a game. It is my first vintage computer but the manual doesnt really give any help, and I cant find how to load a game anywhere else on the internet. Could someone please tell me how? power
For anyone going back to this thread for help as the OP figured out most ST games self boot. So floppy in drive, turn on computer and you're away.
Ayreon
Not all software auto boots. If the folder opens you can double click on the file with the prg or tos extention to start the "game".
tjlazer
.PRG and .TOS files are executable files and can be run by double clicking them. If a disk has a folder called AUTO, it will load the executable file that is in there.
MrMaddog
And also, even putting in a blank disk will make the ST boot to the desktop faster than without a disk inside (due to the constant disk checking).
