iCade 60in1 cocktail, trackball addition issue.

I'm wanting to add a trackball to this thing, but the space I have is very cramped to the point I can't even do a standard mounting on the inside of the control panel area. I've attached an image, not the best, but you can see what I mean in what I'll describe here.

There is a 2.25" and 2" trackball out for these things. The larger one had a black box body with rubber feet casters and is 4x4 square. The other the replacement out now is white but is like just under 3x3 square with a 2" ball. I know you have to pay added money for a mounting bracket, but this won't work either way for that. The unit itself has holes for rods with screws to secure it. I've tried a couple online sellers and neither seems to want to answer or knows how to answer this. But would it be possible to reverse mount this? I'm talking about having the poles come up from the bottom of the base (not the top) where I would screw the nut into place on the under side inside the panel itself?

Links here are for the smaller and larger trackballs:

The schematic is there for the sizes and all that, but not that specific detail. Could I place the smaller white one in the top left corner of my limited space, run the post through it, and secure it from the inside of the joystick panel or is that impossible?? If I can, what would I need to secure it exactly (if you have links so I can see.)

Otherwise I'd just get the black original model, at least it wouldn't slide on top of the glass cocktail top while playing the 4 games on there that use it as a last resort. I just don't like having Centipede, Millipede, Super Breakout and Arkanoid being functionally useless.
