+Steve Jones
Has anyone tried using the Vision-Daptor USB adaptors? I'm trying to use one with a flashback controller to run JZ-Intv on my MacBook air. Games fire up and run fine, but the keypad doesn't seem to do anything. The disc and all side buttons work fine. Any thoughts? Thanks.
ColecoJoe
You need adapter cables for the flashback controllers. http://intellivisionaries.com/flashback/

+Steve Jones
You need adapter cables for the flashback controllers. http://intellivisionaries.com/flashback/ I have some, I'll try that, I thought they would have mentioned that on their website. I'm on a mac as well and the controllers work great with the adapter and cable ... no configuring needed.
+Steve Jones
good to hear, ironically will have about 10 feet of cables between the controller, the fb adaptor and the usb, for a computer a foot away. Maybe should try a Sears controller, I have spares.
mr_me
The USB adapters supports both intellivision sears/2 and flashback cobtrollers. We already know your controllers are working. Regardless of which controller is used jzintv by default does not map the keypad to any controller buttons. Like pimpmaul69 said you have to set it up with a mapping file. You'll have to add a switch to the jzintv command. --kbdhackfile="path/to/kbdhackfile.kbd" And include a file that has the mapping as follows. MAP 0 ; F5 ;first system controller - left jzIntv JS0_BTN_03 PAUSE ; 4+C JS0_BTN_04 RESET ; 5+0 JS0_BTN_05 QUIT ; 6+E JS0_BTN_00 PD0L_A_T JS0_BTN_01 PD0L_A_L JS0_BTN_02 PD0L_A_R JS0_BTN_08 PD0L_KP1 JS0_BTN_09 PD0L_KP2 JS0_BTN_10 PD0L_KP3 JS0_BTN_11 PD0L_KP4 JS0_BTN_12 PD0L_KP5 JS0_BTN_13 PD0L_KP6 JS0_BTN_14 PD0L_KP7 JS0_BTN_15 PD0L_KP8 JS0_BTN_16 PD0L_KP9 JS0_BTN_17 PD0L_KPC JS0_BTN_18 PD0L_KP0 JS0_BTN_19 PD0L_KPE
+Steve Jones
I use GUIntv to launch JZIntv, where would I add that switch? And I assume the file that contains the mapping I save as kbdhackfile.kbd Can I just make that file in a text editor or does it need to be something more complicated? mthompson
I thought I was the only one still using GUIntv occasionally! Navigate to Preferences and take a look near the bottom of the dialog box. You'll see a place to "Use hackfile." Check the box and then either type the path to your hackfile or browse to select it. That's it.

+intvsteve
FWIW, you can use the LTO Flash! UI software as a front end for jzintv as well.

GUIntv is pretty bare bones, but sometimes its all you need.
+Steve Jones
Thanks gang, especially mr_me, that file did the trick, don't need the adaptor cable either. Cheers
