griff3125
Contemplating ordering the Retrotink2x for my 1200 to hook up to my newer samsung monitor via s-video. Anybody tried this yet, are there other products that are better? The reviews on the Retrotink2x are good but I found one reviewer that was using it with a 5200 and apparently the audio output was pretty poor, as in over modulated and crackling. I do like that the Retrotink2x keeps the aspect ratio on a wide screen, so that's one thing, but I'd love to hear some feedback from other people. Thanks! +Nezgar
I haven't used one of those devices personally, but its imperative to get the best analog (S-Video) signal out of the computer in the first place for it to work with. Have you done necessary mods on the 1200XL to clean up the output and add chroma for S-Video? As stock, it outputs only a relatively poor composite, and luma signal, no chroma - needed for S-Video. griff3125
Yep, modded for S-Video, currently going to an older audiovox 15" lcd which looks beautiful, but I'd be very curious to see the results on my newer monitor.
Bill Loguidice
I use an XRGB-mini when I'm not using a Commodore 1084S. It's expensive, but very good when you have multiple systems from different regions that you want to use on HDMI-based displays.
jowi
Why not try the Sophia rev. C. DVI board?
Mr Robot
I wonder how much retrotink has to pay for their hdmi licence. I mean, that's why no one has made an Atari to hdmi board yet isn't it?
griff3125
Why not try the Sophia rev. C. DVI board? Because I've got other devices around I'd be using it with. Thanks for the info tho, that Sofia board looks very interesting, may pursue that down the road.
vattari
Of course, if you have a collection of SCART RGB consoles like I do, the Sophia RGB and OSSC is a good combination too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
shanti77
Why not try the Sophia rev. C. DVI board? Where can I buy this board? Edited November 8, 2018 by shanti77
jowi
Where can I buy this board?Go to the Sophia DVI topic and send a pm to Simius.Beware, getting the output correct can be tricky. Not all tvs and monitors play well with it... but if they do, it is razorsharp. Edited November 8, 2018 by jowi
