King Atari
I have an issue of Batman from 1989 and it has both the Atari ads and double dragon 1 and 2 as well, no joke Maybe mine is from '89 then. I can't imagine the combo went on for too long...
homerhomer
I saw the first video back in the day and I knew that the 7800 was not for me back in the day. I have one now and it's great for games from 1984 and before. But in 86/87 I wanted modern arcade ports like 1942 and life force from Capcom and Konami, Atari was like, hey let's play joust and centipede again.
maxdrive
It seems more people who were famous later appeared in Atari ads jack black in pit fall ad and in that Atari 7800 test lab commercial I saw Jerry O'Connell
MrMaddog
There were 7800 and XEGS commercials on cable channels like USA Network during the late 80's. Even had the "Fun Is Back" 2600 as well, though I rememeber one time I seen an ad where they compared 2600 games from Before (Asteroids) to Now (Solaris). Atari Corp also had ads in GamePro which was pretty much the only magazine that covered Atari systems equally with the NES & Sega ones.
