CommodoreDecker
Howdy! I have been trying to set up a MegaFile 30 on my MegaST 2 with my HDX utility disk. I booted up the MegaFile first, the spinup lights flash accordingly and there's no thunking noises suggesting the drive has gone bad. Then I boot up the ST. The good news is that it formats the drive and partitions, there are 0 bad sectors found during its scan. The bad news are twofold: 1. post-format/partition, there are no HDD icons on the desktop 2. it keeps claiming the device is unidentified so the AHDI driver (v5, 1991) won't install. Drive cables are firmly screwed in. Am I missing a step? Thanks!
ParanoidLittleMan
You should be able to do all it with AHDI SW - so formatting first. If it don't recognizes drive then something is bad.
CommodoreDecker
I'll check the jumpers to make sure it's properly drive 0 and not an unrecognized value. The ST sees something there and does format and partition but that's the extent. Is it possible to format the MegaFile on a 1040STE and then move the MegaFile to a Mega ST2 and still have it boot, or do both systems have different chipsets requiring a different driver? Thanks! ParanoidLittleMan
Same chipsets, same driver. And even same TOS autoboot code.
