Turning my Arcade1Up into an Intellivision arcade machine

Recommended Posts

Very cool! I am (slowly) working on turning my Arcade1up Pac-Man cabinet into a vertical-orientation-MAME-games machine. We'll see how I do. I hope it turns out even somewhere near as cool as yours did. [emoji16]

That frontend is pretty nice, by the way.

I am running the Nostalgia emulator using 'FRONT END'. The games are all displayed using the FRONT END gui. Then they are launched with the emulator. This gives it a nice clean look.

Nostalgia used the numerical keys on a computer keyboard for the keypad numbers on the Intellivision controller. How do you control the keypad function?

I use a program called keyboard 2joystick that let's me map the buttons on the control deck to match the number keys

If you run nostalgia directly, you can map all buttons to game controller buttons within nostalgia settings. Nostalgia aspect ratio is fixed at 16:10 and there seems to be a resolution scaling issue.

Excellent. I suppose not great for in game selection but good for when you need to select things like difficulty levels / number of players etc. FreeIntv has a clever way to select the keypad buttons whilst in play however the emulator itself is not good at all.
