Wntermute
Has anyone found the pinout for the XEGS keyboard? The owner's manual only has pinouts for the other common Atari 8-bit connectors, but nothing on the keyboard. (Even the keyboard's manual has no pinout information) The Atari 8-bit FAQ doesn't even have it.

Albert
It sure would be nice to build a keyboard extension cable for that thing. If such a beast existed then I'd use an XEGS instead of an 800XL for playing games.. ..Al

I've never tried it, but an extension cable for a PC joystick should work. I believe they are wired for all 15 pins. Duh, I completely spaced on the fact that the XEGS keyboard uses a 15-pin connector. Mmmmmm, I may have to make a trip to Fry's later today and test that out. I need to setup an Atari 8-bit so I can play the Bounty Bob Strikes Back I won on eBay. It'd be nice to set the computer aside (although obviously not too far away since you need access to those large, pastel buttons) and have easy access to the keyboard. ..Al
Wntermute
Actually, I had an idea inspired by the guys who were working on programming for the 5200... ..the keyboard's connector fits perfectly into the 5200's controller ports. Having a keyboard would open up more genres of games.
