+Andrew Davie
Albert has been promising for ages to read these tutorials and start some '2600 programming. I told him when he does that, I'll do another session. So long as you all know - it's Albert who is the main reason for no sessions appearing for a while. Cap5750
Tricky...very tricky. I thought this was a new session. Come on Al! Al..hmm...maybe that's the start of another thread. Perhaps we can discuss our own language...called Atari Language. I bet those mnumonics you posted in the other thread would work very well! Gateway
Albert, feel free to take your time with it, and you can get the 8-bit section finished. I still need a bit more time to catch up on all these tutorials!
Scuttle130
Imagine my excitement when I found this website many days from the last time I played Atari! It could only be surpassed by my finding this forum to learn about 2600 programming. I have purchsed a few books on the 6502 and printed every page of the tutorial in an effort to learn the language only to hit a solid brick wall named Albert who is preventing Andrew from continuing my 2600 education! Well, until Andrew wishes to continue, I guess I will continue to "reverse engineer" Combat and Adventure to learn the more advanced topics like joystick control and collision detection... Thomas Jentzsch
Well, until Andrew wishes to continue, I guess I will continue to "reverse engineer" Combat and Adventure to learn the more advanced topics like joystick control and collision detection... Both games have already been reverse engineered. Check AA and e.g. The Dig!
Scuttle130
It's not the process of reverse engineering I am doing...its trying to figure out how to do joystick control, collision detection, graphics, etc... from a program already done. I'm trying to learn from the code, not really re-engineer the game...
