Bryan
Has anyone ever seen an 800XE box where it actually says 65XE on it? Nope, but I will say this: "The check's in the mail, and I'll see you in church, and don't you ever change." -Bry

andy_bernstein
Curt, Looking at the box, would you think this is a 1992 800XE made in mainland China (before production was stopped around that time). I must visit Paris late December, I'll check if my Secam 800XL's have the Freddie chip (one never knows). Later. AB.
krupkaj
This white box variation with blue Atari logo is pretty common in East Europe. Mine both 8bits was inside this case. (first from 1987 and second after 1992)
Curt Vendel
The 800XE's came out in 88' from what I can tell (based on the production date codes on the PCB's) I don't know if they actually ran production up till 92' I would think that they simply exhausted their supplies till there were none left. The box (hard to know for sure since the pic is small) lots sort of like a 65XE stamp was added to the box or something, hard to say... For ST's, the US mostly got those generic white boxes with Blue lettering, while initially for the 520ST it was a nice full color box, the same with the 65/130XE's... then the boxes all started to become generic white with blue (ST) and red (XE) letter... now those were the official color designation for the systems, so I always thought it strange why the 800xe was done in Blue, its a total oddity, the numbering doesn't comform to the XE styling and then the color is blue instead of red, very strange.
