If memory serves me correctly (correct me if I'm wrong, folks) the cable is a mere RCA style cable, with the one end connected on the inside of the unit. No soldering needed, just pop it open and there's a female on the inside. I could be wrong, but I think that's how they're put together. If not, there's soldering to be done on the inside.
