ATARIPITBULL
Look, Even if your story is true, anyone who truly loves Atari would never destroy any game no mater how bad it is (like E.T.) because since the company no longer makes them they are kind of rare and should be sold or given to some one who would take care of them. davidbrit2
Send them to Hozer Video so Randy can make better games out of them!
videotwit
David- Great Idea! That gets my vote, too!
MattyXB
Arrg, E.T. is a great game. But if you can't play it then read the manual. I love this game as I was a little child, and I love it today. I love it, because the pieces are everytime at a different place. I think Hozer is no good idea, but better then destroy them. videotwit
Matthias- Don't get me wrong... I'd never get rid of ALL my ET carts. I, too, think it's a great game and destroying it would be of no value to anyone. I was in NO way condemning the game of ET. Here is the problem, though... How many copies of ET does one person need? I think one - that's all you need to be able to play the game. Being ET is such a common game, it is very difficult to trade them (I think I have at least 10 extras now, for example, which have sat in my trade box for at least 5 years). In other words, the market for ET carts is pretty much saturated. Rather than stockpile them (as I have no extra room to store the spares), I think a very good alternative would be to have Randy at Hozer put the pieces of a cart to better use. Otherwise that cart would sit in a box in a closet never to be appreciated. at least this way someone gets enjoyment out of it again. This is just my opinion - anyone else have other ideas, or am I completely off base here?
khryssun
I Love to play E.T. The pits are a little annoying when a new player, but with practice it's easy to avoid useless falls. I think it is a really good idea to send them to Hozer Video !
MattyXB
Yes, its ok. I am angry about soda bob. What the others say is ok. And I think Hozer is better then destroy them, as I write it. An Atari Fan must not love all games, but I think he must respect all others. So if you a real Atari Fan you will never destroy any game, if you love it or not. I think there are many game, they I hate. But I collect them and will never destroy them. E.T. was one of the my first games as child. And it was great. Joel D. Park
I agree, ET is a good game. It's nice to hear from some folks who have actually played it for the game it is. I'm very impressed since it had such a short development time. Long Live ET. You can even check out my game review here: http://www.atari2600.net/aspGameReviews.asp Forgive me if my reviews sound ignorant. I do actually play the games I review, most if not all of the games are games I actually owned/played as a kid.
crazy mon
I THINK THAT ALL THE CARTRIDGES SHOULD BE STUFFED UP SODA BOB'S NOSE AND BEAT WITH A RUBBER HOSE!!!!!
popeal
Even though it wasn't my favorite game as a kid, it's one that I'll never trade up. I got it for Christmas from my great-grandmother, and she died a few days after Christmas. Everytime I play it, I still think of her, because it was the only present I played with that year. But, people are right - E.T. was a game that was made quickly to cash in on the craze. Hell, didn't Henry Thomas (Elliot) do a commercial for Intellivision with George Plimpton just as the E.T. game was coming out? What a kick in the teeth that is, huh? Albert
I'm one of those (rare) people who actually enjoyed ET back when it was a new game. At the time it had pretty good graphics, lots of screens, and was one of the few adventure-style games available for the 2600. But I was much younger way back then, so hopefully I can be forgiven. ..Al
