+davidcalgary29
I note that Lance Ringquist is offering that long-lost classic, Jinks, through Video 61. I've long hated the 7800 version, and am eager to see what Atari would have tortured us A8 users with. Anyone else placing an order?
Tempest
Which version is it? The original or the stripped down one Atari was going to release? Tempest
+davidcalgary29
I'll have to ask. I do know that it's the 64K version, and not the 16K version that's been floating around for awhile.
birdie3
This looks cool. What does Lance say?
+CharlieChaplin
Well, I guess it is the version from AMC-Verlag, Germany... You can read the story behind it here at atari-age forum... The game has 4 levels (each with 4 colors plus dithering), a title screen and a title music. I am not sure if Lance used the easy title screen (without a title picture intro) or the enhanced title screen (with title picture intro)... Lets wait and see... After you have finished the four levels, the game gets harder and faster - but no new levels appear. afaik, the game also has an interlude (I don`t like it), where one can "choose" which level to play next... Anyway, the game was originally programmed around 1984-1986 (allthough the copyright says 1991 - that was when AMC Verlag got the rights for their own and unreleased game back!) and in my eyes it is quite boring, allthough I am the copyright holder of all AMC programs... -Andreas. Tempest
Yeah I have to say that I've never seen what the attraction is of Jinks. It's just not verey intersting to me. It's like it's missing something, but I can't put my finger on it. Tempest
