Malix
What a pleasant surprise. I thought the guy from ebay had hosed me but he was just a late sender. I received my atari 4-switch woodgrain yesterday afternoon and let me tell you. It should not be called Nintendo finger but atari finger. I played asteroids and pitfall for a good 5 hours yesterday and I can barely type without bleeding all over the keyboard. The system is as good as I remember it and I cant wait to get some more games. One thing I am sure has been answered before but what is the difficulty switch there for. I assume to change teh difficutly level but it does not seem to make a difference.
Alex
Difficulty switch - you guessed it, but not all games utilize it. It usually does things like speed up enemies, make them smaller (harder to hit), make your character slower/larger/whatever, in order to make the game more difficult. Check the individual game manual to see what it does, if anything.
Joel D. Park
Congratulations!!! I'm glad your Atari came, that makes me feel all the better about ebay. I've never been actually shafted out of money but I have won a few things Cheap then failed to get emails back from the seller. I also bought a copy of Paint Shop Pro and ended up getting a Pirated Copy. I sent the CD back for a refund and haven't recieved it yet.. So I guess that was a shaft out of money.. NE146
The difficulty switches in Asteroids allow for Saucers to come out and attack you. Of course you want this on otherwise it just wouldn't be Asteroids! I also think it's also advisable to play the "even" game numbers which allow the asteroids to travel at angles other than just the boring up&down but I'm sure you knew this already.
