berzerk
What is the best glue and process to reattach falling off cart labels or where there is a corner coming off, etc? thanks
Ze_ro
Is it just me, or does this seem to happen most often with Parker Brothers games? Almost all the end labels of my PB games are gradually coming unglued, whereas the majority of my Atari/Activision/etc games aren't peeling at all. --Zero
Albert
Yes, Parker Brothers games are notorious for having the end of the label pop up. I've had this happen for Parker Brothers carts made for just about every system, 2600, 5200, Atari 8-bit, and ColecoVision. I think the few Parker Brothers TI 99/4a carts I have are okay, though. Spinnaker carts always seem to lose their labels as well. I've had to reattach many of them. I usually just use a glue stick and that seems to work reasonably well without making a mess of me or the cart. ..Al
Curt Vendel
If the label has completely fallen off, I found that Architects adhesive spray is the best. I've used it for the homebrew labels that were made for the 7800 High Score Carts as well as the graphics added onto the custom retro-replica boxes too. Staples sells a spray can for I think about $5 or so, maybe a little much if you just have one cart to repair, but if you have mutiples, this will do the trick. Albert
Maybe we need a "HOWTO" section for "How To Reattach Cart Labels", complete with pictures. ..Al [ 07-18-2001: Message edited by: Albert ]

This is a fantastic idea, Al. This subject seems to pop up at least once a month. I'd be happy to give any advice / assistance in this area - the Fancy Label Clubs (along with an aging collection) have given me a pretty good handle on processes that work and those that don't. slindberg@visi.com
postamessage
I use plain ordinary Elmer's Glue-All but I mix it with water then I apply it to both the cart and the label with a paint brush.
Albert
quoteThis is a fantastic idea, Al. This subject seems to pop up at least once a month. Okay, I'll add it to our list of things to do. I'll work on that after I write the "How To Scan Stuff Well" section. And that won't get done until I get rid of a few other things in the queue first. So the next time you guys reattach a label, take some pictures and send them to me! ..Al
