birdie3
Maybe some one here would know how to fix the problem I am having. I have several XE's and they all work fine except this one. All cartridge games play perfectly fine with no problems what so ever. This one 65XE I have gives me trouble with all games loaded from disk. My drives all work fine and I have isolated the problem down to strictly being caused when I attempt to play games from disk. What happens is this - many times the graphics seem to display the playfield OK but the player/missle graphics seem to be all garbled and distorted. This changes from disk to disk. Some games will not even load entirely and will only display garbage with some elements of the game graphics partially present. What is the problem and how do I fix it? Bryan
1st thing you should do is turn off the disk drive and turn it on with Option pressed to come up in the self test, then let it run through a complete RAM test. -Bry
birdie3
OK. The self test screen is not coming up. Turning it on with the OPTION button down just shows the cursor on the blue screen and it does not go into "ready" mode. Sometimes it even just shows a black screen. birdie3
Can anyone give me a clue as to what may be wrong with my computer?
Shannon
Sounds like somehow your internal basic is not disabling properly. If you boot a DOS disk (while holding option) does it go straight to DOS or into basic?
