Ze_ro
I recently won a couple of double enders off of eBay, and I was wondering if it was possible to actually play both ends of the cartridge at once? You'd obviously need two Atari's (2600 or newer I'd think, otherwise they'd probably block each other), but unless for some reason, there was no electrical isolation between each end of the cartridge (I haven't opened up any of these yet), I'd imagine it would work. (Hell, even if they are electrically connected, it might still work). I've noticed though, that the "pins" on each side of the connector (Is there a term for these?) can't all be pushed all the way in at once... would this prevent such use? Has anyone tried this? --Zero

Rhindle The Red
I recently got a Xonox with no label on it, so I opened it up. (Thought I might make myself a Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Jr. or Defender/Stargate double-ender for fun.) There are two completely separate boards inside, so there's no reason it wouldn't work at least electronically. I tried it for fit (because of the pins) and it seemed to make good contact. (I didn't use 'live' 2600s, just a couple I have lying around the basement.) Why you would want to do it on the other hand...
Joel D. Park
Well, that is a truly bizzare thought. Playing both ends at once, someone must really be lacking excitement in the games they are playing...
Marco(2)
Speaking of double-enders... I just recently discovered there are actually pirate double-enders out there as well! Check them out here No manufacturer credited (of course, I would say), and they look really cheesy. They contain the bigger hits, like Frogger, Pac-Man and Demon Attack - gotta love'em for their weirdness, don't you think? jsoper
This came up on usenet awhile ago and someone posted: "Isn't that how atari's mate?" Got a chuckle out of it. John
videotwit
Geez, Marco! You've been digging up some extremely cool stuff lately! I'd love to get me hands on a couple of those some day...
Marco(2)
Hi twit, This was the first time I ever laid eyes on these, I had never seen them before, nor had I heard any collector in Holland talk about it. I just love it that, after 20 or so years, we are still finding "new" Atari 2600 games... it's just amazing Cheers, Marco
